Nicholas Cooke, Building records for the College Edifice, now known as University Hall, 1771. A few donors offered the labor of their slaves. The construction crew included Pero, a 62-year-old African; Job, a Native American; and Mingow, apparently a free African. From the Rhode Island College miscellaneous papers, Brown University Archives.
