Full description
In 1765, the Brown brothers contracted Isaac Tripp, a local merchant, to acquire forty horses, paid for in goods, including rum, sugar, molasses, and “one Negrow Garl.” From the Brown Family Business Records collection at the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University.
