Lowe, Alfred, Vice Consul in Civita Vecchia, to Brown, Nicholas on French Vessels

Informs Brown that 13 French vessels (mostly steamers) arrived, and almost immediately began landing troops. The French flag, alongside the Roman Republic flag, has been hoisted on the fortress. Adds that 500-600 Lombards on a small Sardinian steamer arrived, but it is said that the French will not allow them to land.
