Full description
Lowe’s report noted the arrival the previous day of the French ship, the Pomona, having on board, in addition to 390 men and 36 guns, the new French emissary, Ferdinand de Lesseps. Sig Accursi, chargé d’affaires of the Roman Republic at Paris, accompanied Lesseps. Both proceeded toward Rome.
